Flights directly into the Sarasota-Bradenton airport are very limited, so flying into the Tampa International Airport, 30 miles away, is recommended and is more economical. Several taxi and limousine services offer transport between Tampa and Sarasota. Examples are Five Star Airport Service, November Limousine, Primetime Limousines, and the more economical Sarasota-Tampa Express.

A block of rooms has been reserved for symposium attendees at the Lido Beach Resort, 700 Benjamin Franklin Drive, Sarasota, Florida 34236 (telephone, 800-441-2113 or 941-388-2161; fax, 941-388-3175). In order to receive the preferred rates, individuals must identify themselves with the FSU-Mote Fisheries Conference when making reservations and secure reservations by September 11th. The conference room rate is $159.00 plus tax per night. Transportation between the Lido Beach Resort and the symposium site (Mote Marine Laboratory, 1600 Ken Thompson Parkway, Sarasota, Florida) will be provided by a shuttle.
