Young Investigator Awards - Announcing 2015 Recipients

Each year since 2000, the steering committee of the FSU Mote Symposium awards two Young Investigators, one for best oral presentation and one for best poster. Young investigators include graduate students and individuals who received the Ph.D. degree no more than five years before the meeting.

Awards this year go to:

Talk -

  • Best talk - Antonella Rivera for her talk - Sustainability of the gooseneck barnacle TURF system in Asturias: trends, drivers and basic principles.
  • Honorable Mention for his talk – Ruleo A. Camacho - Antigua’s community-based no-take reserves: Developing a bottom-up TURF for coral reef ecosystems (YI, Talk)

Poster

  • Best poster - Kristine Beran - Territorial user rights in the Gambia: successful enabling conditions and stakeholder empowerment in the artisanal sole fishery
