Grants Compliance Analyst – Job ID# 52850
The Florida State University Coastal & Marine Laboratory (FSUCML) is seeking a grant compliance analyst. The FSUCML is located 40 miles south of Tallahassee on the unspoiled "Forgotten Coast" of the Florida Panhandle. Research at the FSUCML focuses on estuarine and marine ecosystems of the Gulf of Mexico. Scientists at the lab direct externally funded projects addressing critical issues for the health and conservation of coastal and marine habitats.
Responsible for managing the administrative, financial, personnel and operational aspects of the Triumph Inc., ABSI award at the FSU Coastal & Marine Lab. Acts as sponsored project subject matter expert, including interpreting and communicating university policies and procedures with the PI and other appropriate personnel. Ensures compliance with internal and external sponsored project requirements. Provides other administrative support and assistance to the PI as needed in the management and oversight of the project. Prepares and submits documents, such as advance requests, budget amendments, subcontracts.
Prepares and analyzes monthly financial reports to monitor and manage grant budgets and ensure appropriate and timely expenditures for FSUCML PIs' sponsored projects, including processing any necessary corrections. Assists the PI with preparing financial reports in accordance with the grant terms, including close out reports. Organizes and maintains grant files.
Facilitates all purchases for the FSUCML, including entering requisitions, ePayment Request Forms, change orders and serves as a P-Card proxy for assigned Purchasing Card holders. Responsible for knowing all university policies and procedures that govern procurement in order to advise faculty and staff of proper procurement methods to maintain compliance
Serves as the backup for pre-award duties related to sponsored projects, as well as other duties as assigned as it relates to the administrative functions of the FSUCML, such as answering phone lines and routing mail.
Bachelor's degree and one year experience; or a high school diploma/equivalent and experience equal to five years. (Note: post-high school education can substitute for experience at the equivalent rate.)
- Ability to demonstrate critical thinking based upon in-depth data, substantiating information, considering and respecting others' input personal values, and ethics.
- Experience compiling, reviewing, and reconciling data for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
- Experience prioritizing, organizing and performing multiple work assignments simultaneously.
- Experience preparing and monitoring budget information.
- Experience utilizing problem solving skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing and establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Knowledge of purchasing/procurement, budgeting, and administrative management.
eSPEAR Certification or ability to obtain the certification within 6 months of hire.
Schedule is Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm; full-time position. Flexibility to work outside of normal hours, if necessary.
This is an A&P (Administrative and Professional) position. This is a soft money funded position, with renewal based on available funds and the needs of the University.
Criminal Background Check
