Grad students Awarded Funding from The PADI Foundation and The Guy Harvey Ocean Foundation

Congratulations to graduate students in the FSU Department of Biological Science, Bob Ellis and Cheston Peterson, for receiving awards for their research.

Bob, a Ph.D. student (Advisor, Dr. Felicia Coleman), received $5,500 from The PADI Foundation(Professional Association of Diving Instructors) to support his research project, Red grouper: prairie dogs of Florida Bay? Cheston, a M. Sc. student (Advisor, Dr. Dean Grubbs), received a $5,000 Guy Harvey Excellence Award , made possible by the Guy Harvey Ocean Foundation, to support his research project, Investigating the effects of the DWH oil spill on the trophic ecology of sharks and teleost fishes of the Florida Big Bend using stable isotope analyses.
